As per the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a 5.4 magnitude earthquake was reported near the Kermadec Islands on Friday (04 September) at around 2359 hours (local time).
The recorded depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometres. No human casualty or property disruption has been reported so far.
