The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 5.2 earthquake approximately 52 kilometers south of Balut Island, Sarangani, at 1901 hours (local time) on Wednesday (19 August).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. No tsunami warning has been issued.
