The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 5.1 magnitude earthquake approximately 277 kilometers northwest of Tanimbar, Maluku, at 1314 hours (local time) on Saturday (12 September).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 124 kilometers.
