The Central Weather Administration reported an earthquake with 4.5 magnitude about 14.2 km south-southeast of Yilan County Hall at 0557 hours (local time) on Sunday (31 December). The earthquake was at a depth of 47.4 km.
Tremors were reported in Hualien County, New Taipei, Taipei city, Taoyuan City, Keelung City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Nantou County, and Chiayi County.
