The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 4.3 earthquake approximately 56 kilometres southeast of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, at 0257 hours (local time) on Monday (24 August).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.
