According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) in India, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan on Thursday (29 October) at approximately 0539 hours (local time).
The earthquake was recorded at 36.535 degrees North and 71.316 degrees East, at a depth of 228 kilometres.
