The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported a 4.1 magnitude earthquake off the Coast of Miyagi Prefecture, at approximately 1800 hours (local time) on Saturday (24 January).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 90 kilometres and registered a seismic intensity of 02 in Wakuya Town.
