The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported a magnitude 4.0 earthquake approximately 70.8 kilometres northeast of Taitung County Hall at 0156 hours (local time) on Tuesday (11 August).

• The earthquake occurred at a depth of 42.3 kilometres.
• The maximum intensity recorded was 02 in Taitung County, while a maximum intensity of 01 was recorded in Nantou, Hualien, Yunlin, Changhua and Chiayi counties.
