The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 4.0-magnitude earthquake approximately 163 kilometres northeast of Melonguane at 0620 hours (local time) on Thursday (18 June).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometres.
