The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake approximately 73 kilometers northeast of Maluku Tenggara, Maluku Province at 0512 hours (local time) on Sunday (02 August).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 150 kilometers.
