23 dead due to storms reported in several southern US states as of Tuesday (28 May)

As per reports, at least 23 people were killed in storms, rainfall, and tornadoes reported in the south central region of the US as of Tuesday (28 May). More than 800,000 homes, offices and businesses were impacted by power outages.

• Strong storms and tornadoes were reported in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Virginia and Texas.
• At least five people died due to storms in Kentucky; seven in Cooke County, Texas; two died in Oklahoma; eight in Arkansas; and one in Virginia.
• The probability of heavy hail has been predicted in parts of Texas, including the cities of Amarillo, Austin, Dallas and Sanderson.
