As per reports, authorities in Nuremberg are scheduled to evacuate part of the Lichtenreuth district on Tuesday (10 March) after a 450-kilogram US World War II bomb (blindgänger) with impact fuzes at the front and rear was found during construction works on Monday (09 March).
• The device was located in a construction pit in the new Lichtenreuth quarter, slightly more than 300 meters from Münchener Straße.
• Evacuation is scheduled to start at 0800 hours local time (0700 hours UTC), with disposal scheduled from 1000 hours local time (0900 hours UTC).
• Around 390 residents are affected within a 450-meter security radius, including the newly built residential row on Lorenz-Hagen-Straße and the premises of the Technical University of Nuremberg (UTN) on Dr. Luise-Herzberg-Straße.
• Authorities also stated that Münchener Straße is scheduled to close in the affected section during the operation, U-Bahn line U1 is expected to be disrupted near the site, and temporary airspace restrictions are also anticipated.
• A citizen hotline is scheduled to open from 0700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC).
