As per the reports, the Carmel Police Department (CPD) has issued a traffic alert for the 49th Annual Northern Westchester-Putnam St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday (08 March), with road closures on Route 6 in Mahopac commencing from 1215 hours local time (1715 hours UTC) and the parade stepping off at 1400 hours local time (1900 hours UTC).
• From 1215 hours local time (1715 hours UTC), Carmel PD is expected to close Route 6 between Mount Hope Road and Croton Falls Road for parade staging.
• From 1300 hours local time (1800 hours UTC), the full parade route on Route 6 from Croton Falls Road to East Lake Boulevard is scheduled to be closed to through traffic for the duration of the event.
• The designated detour for through traffic bypassing the staging area and parade route is via East Lake Boulevard, which serves as an alternative bypass between Mount Hope Road and Route 6 across from Dunkin’ Donuts, running parallel to the closed Route 6 corridor for the duration of the event.
• A shuttle bus service will operate between the Stop and Shop at Lake Plaza Shopping Center and the intersection of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road from 1130 hours local time (1630 hours UTC), providing parking-to-parade access for attendees.
• The affected area is Route 6 (US Route 6) in Mahopac, Town of Carmel, Putnam County, New York, encompassing the section between Mount Hope Road and East Lake Boulevard, including the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department staging area at Croton Falls Road and the Lake Plaza Shopping Center terminus at East Lake Boulevard.
