Jhanda Ji Darbar Sahib fair to begin in Dehradun on Sunday (08 March)

As per reports, the Dehradun traffic department has issued a comprehensive advisory due to the commencement of the Jhanda Ji Darbar Sahib Fair (Jhanda Mela) in Dehradun on Sunday (08 March).

• Vehicle restrictions are in effect for the following stretches to ensure pedestrian safety and event management:

– Bindal to Tilak Road: Entry of all four-wheelers is completely prohibited.
– Saharanpur Chowk to Darbar Sahib: This area is a designated “no-vehicle zone”.
– Kanwali Road to Darbar Sahib: No vehicles are allowed from the Guru Ram Rai School side towards the fairgrounds.
– Pipal Mandi to Saharanpur Chowk: Traffic movement is stopped on the stretch connecting Pipal Mandi, Hanuman Chowk, and Saharanpur Chowk.
– Bhandari Chowk and Darshani Gate: Barriers are placed on all roads leading toward the Gurudwara from these points.
• Entry of all types of vehicles will be prohibited by placing barriers on all the roads leading from Saharanpur Chowk – Gau Ghat Tiraha – Darshani Gate – Peepal Mandi Chowk – around the pond – Bhandari Chowk towards the Gurudwara.
• If traffic pressure increases, traffic from Niranjanpur Mandi towards Saharanpur Chowk and from Balliwala Chowk towards Saharanpur Chowk will be diverted to Kamala Palace as needed. Additionally, traffic from Lalpul towards Saharanpur Chowk will be diverted to Niranjanpur Mandi.
