As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in an alliance campaign rally in Tiruchirappalli on Wednesday (March 11). The details are as follows:
• The venue, either a private site in Panjappur or the G Corner Ground, is being prepared on a 22-acre plot, with an additional 60 acres designated for vehicle parking to accommodate the large number of participants expected at the event. The site is located near the Tiruchi–Madurai National Highway and is approximately five kilometres from Tiruchirappalli International Airport.
• Extensive preparations are underway at the venue. Cleaning and ground preparation works are currently being carried out using JCB machines to ensure the site is ready for the gathering. Officials stated that arrangements are being expedited to facilitate the smooth conduct of the public meeting and to manage the anticipated influx of supporters travelling from across the region.
• Earlier in the week, senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Tamil Nadu State President Nainar Nagendran, along with former minister C. Vijayabaskar, visited Tiruchirappalli to inspect potential venues for the public meeting. The leaders reviewed arrangements at the private land parcel in Panjappur and later inspected the G Corner Ground in the city before finalising preparations.
• During the inspection, Nagendran stated that the NDA public meeting would be conducted on the scale of a major political conference, with participation expected to exceed five lakh people. He also clarified that seat-sharing discussions within the alliance have not yet begun and will only be taken up after the Election Commission of India announces the official election schedule.
