As per reports, members of the Federation of Government Doctors’ Associations (FOGDA) briefly launched an indefinite hunger strike at the Madras Medical College (MMC) premises in Chennai on Thursday (05 March). The protest was temporarily suspended after the hospital administration denied permission to hold the agitation within the campus and recommended police action.
Representatives of FOGDA held discussions with Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) P. Senthilkumar, but the talks concluded without any concrete assurances, prompting doctors to warn that, if their demands remain unaddressed, the agitation could resume with greater intensity in the coming days.
