Update on flight cancellations in Sri Lanka amid Middle East crisis – Thursday (05 March)

As per reports, SriLankan Airlines flights connecting Colombo with destinations in the Middle East are cancelled on Thursday (05 March), as airline operations remain disrupted due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

• SriLankan Airlines confirmed that the following flights scheduled for Thursday (05 March) remain cancelled:

– UL225 Colombo – Dubai
– UL226 Dubai – Colombo
– UL217 Colombo – Doha
– UL218 Doha – Colombo
– UL253 Colombo – Dammam
– UL254 Dammam – Colombo
– UL229 Colombo – Kuwait
– UL230 Kuwait – Colombo
• Despite the disruptions, SriLankan Airlines announced that some scheduled services would continue to operate as part of a gradual resumption of operations to the Middle East. The following flights scheduled for Thursday (05 March) are expected to operate:

– UL231 / UL232 Colombo – Dubai – Colombo
– UL265 / UL266 Colombo – Riyadh – Colombo
• The airline stated that it is gradually restoring operations to Middle Eastern destinations based on ongoing safety assessments and evolving airspace conditions. Passengers have been advised to regularly check the status of their flights through the airline’s official communication channels to receive the latest updates.
