As per reports, a planned closure of a section of the Trakia Motorway (A1) has commenced as of Thursday (05 March), affecting the Burgas-bound carriageway between kilometer markers 342 and 348 in Burgas Province.

• According to the reports, the traffic is being redirected bidirectionally onto the Sofia-bound carriageway for the duration of the work.
• The affected section spans approximately six kilometers between the towns of Burgas and Karnobat. Works involve full pavement replacement, embankment reinforcement using geosynthetic materials, and construction of a new road base.
• The roadworks are reportedly scheduled to continue until approximately mid-June 2026, a duration of approximately three and a half months.
