The Indonesia Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) has issued a weather warning for moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, for parts of East Kalimantan region, valid from 2300 hours (local time) on Monday (02 March) to 0200 hours (local time) on Tuesday (03 March).

• Locations likely to be impacted by moderate to heavy rainfall include areas of Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Kenohan, Kembang Janggut, Muara Kaman); Berau Regency (Kelay, Segah); East Kutai Regency (Muara Bengkal, Kongbeng, Teluk Pandan).
• The warning may extend to the areas of Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Kota Bangun); East Kutai Regency (Muara Ancalong, Muara Wahau); and Bontang City (North Bontang, South Bontang, West Bontang).
