Authorities to maintain increased vigil for festivities and events in Pune on Tuesday (03 March)

According to reports, Pune Metro has announced a temporary adjustment to its metro schedule for Tuesday (03 March) in observance of the Dhulivandan (Holi) festival. Further details are as follows:

• Passenger services across the city will remain completely suspended from 0600 hours (local time) to 1500 hours to accommodate the holiday celebrations.
• Pune Metro officials stated that normal operations are set to resume in the afternoon, with services running according to the regular schedule from 1500 hours until 2300 hours.
• As Pune prepares for Dhulivandan festivities, the Pune Traffic Police have put in place thorough security and traffic management strategies to guarantee public safety throughout the city. Over 800 traffic officers will be stationed at key intersections, busy streets, and designated sensitive areas to avert accidents and uphold order during the celebrations.
• Authorities have also established special nakabandi (checkpoints) around the city to address violations like drunk driving, riding without helmets, triple-seat riding, and speeding.
• Additionally, around 6,000 attendees are anticipated for a live concert at Mahalaxmi Lawns on Tuesday (03 March), commencing at around 1700 hours. To oversee crowd control and security at the venue, about 50 police officers will be assigned.
