As per reports, authorities in Karachi implemented extensive road closures as a precautionary measure ahead of possible protests on Monday (02 March) linked to the reported killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
• Both carriageways linking Sultanabad Traffic Section to Mai Kolachi have been completely blocked. Roads from MT Khan Road towards Jinnah Bridge and from PIDC to Jinnah Bridge have also been closed for all vehicular movement.
• Vehicles coming from Jinnah Bridge are being diverted towards I.I. Chundrigar Road. Traffic from Boat Basin is being redirected through a U-turn at Mai Kolachi Phatak. Vehicles approaching from PIDC are being turned back from Park Cut.
• In addition, the road on Shahrah-e-Faisal from FTC to Metro Pole has been barricaded. Authorities confirmed that the road near FTC has remained closed since the previous day as part of heightened security measures. Traffic police have advised commuters to use alternative routes and cooperate with law enforcement agencies as the situation continues to be closely monitored.
