According to reports, the Afghan military forces reportedly attacked the border areas in Pakistan on Thursday (26 February).

• According to Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, “large-scale offensive operations” were launched along the disputed Durand Line in response to what he characterized as repeated provocations and violations by Pakistani military forces.
• Reportedly, the Taliban forces have fortified large stretches along the Durand Line with advanced laser systems.
• According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, the Taliban miscalculated and opened fire in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur sectors. Pakistani forces responded immediately and effectively, inflicting significant losses on the Taliban units.
