The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has reported that a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred at 0653 hours (local time) on Thursday (26 February), approximately 11.8 kilometres east of Taitung County Hall, at a depth of 30.5 kilometres.

• The largest observed seismic intensity has been Level 02 in parts of Taitung County, including Beinan, Luye, Ludao, Donghe, Taimali and Chenggong.
• Intensity Level 01 shaking has been recorded in Taitung City, Chishang, Haiduan, Lidao and Changbin, as well as parts of Hualien County, Kaohsiung City and Tainan City.
• No casualties or structural damage have been reported as of this update. No tsunami warning has been issued.
