Power outages scheduled across Kenya on Thursday (26 February)

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned electricity interruptions on Thursday (26 February), to facilitate system maintenance, network upgrades, new connections, and replacement of faulty infrastructure across multiple counties.

• Power cuts will affect parts of 11 counties, with specific areas scheduled for outage during daytime hours, potentially disrupting households, businesses, schools, health facilities, and commercial activity.
• In Nairobi County, power interruptions are expected in parts of Langata and Kibera , Runda, and the South B / KIMC area during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
• In Kericho County, power interruptions are expected to affect parts of Kenegut during 0830 hours local time to 1600 hours local time (0530 hours UTC to 1300 hours UTC).
• In Uasin Gishu County, power interruptions are expected to affect the Ndupeneti area during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC) and in Migori County, power interruptions are expected to affect parts of Got Kachola during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
• In Embu County, power interruptions are expected to affect parts of Ishara and Karerema, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC) and In Murang’a County, power interruptions are expected to affect the Kagaa and Thangari areas, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
• In Nyeri County, power interruptions are expected to affect Othaya and Waihara areas, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC) and in Kiambu County, power interruptions are expected to affect Gatuanyaga, Landless, Makongeni, Gachie, Gacharage, and Ndecha areas, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
• In Mombasa County, power interruptions are expected to affect Jomvu, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC) and in Kwale County, power interruptions are expected to affect Kidimu and Shimoni Reef, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
• In Kilifi County, power interruptions are expected to affect Mnarani, Takaungu, Vipingo, and parts of Malindi Town, during 0900 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC to 1400 hours UTC).
