As per reports, the trade union Verdi has announced a public transport strike in Krefeld scheduled for Friday (27 February) and Saturday (28 February).
In response, SWK Mobil GmbH has activated an emergency timetable in coordination with partner transport companies to maintain limited operational continuity.
• All regular bus routes are expected to be suspended, with the exception of routes 047 and 062, which may continue operating on a limited basis. However, authorities indicate that additional cancellations may occur even on these two routes.
• Tram lines 041, 042, 043, and 044 are expected to be fully replaced by buses operating broadly in accordance with the standard tram schedule. Delays and isolated cancellations are anticipated.
• Reports indicate that on Friday (27 February), regular night express services are expected to be suspended from 0030 hours local time (2330 hours UTC on 26 February) onward till Monday (02 March).
• During the strike period of Friday (27 February) and Saturday (28 February), Tram Line 042 may be expected to be fully replaced by a bus service operating broadly in accordance with the standard tram timetable; however, delays and isolated cancellations are expected to occur, and the stops Werner-Voß-Straße, Traarer Straße, Pappelstraße, and Haus Rath may be expected to remain unserved, with passengers directed to utilize Elfrather Mühle and the temporary Magdeburger Straße stop on Werner-Voß-Straße as designated alternatives.
• During the strike period, Tram Line 042, the existing rail replacement service between Uerdingen Bahnhof and Bockumer Platz, may be expected to remain operational and unchanged, while an emergency bus service is expected to operate between Krefeld Hauptbahnhof, Bockumer Platz, and Elfrather Mühle, and passengers traveling to and from Uerdingen may be expected to transfer between the emergency bus service and the replacement bus service at Bockumer Platz.
• During the strike period, Tram Line 044 the existing replacement bus service between Hüls Betriebshof and Krefeld Hbf Süd may be expected to continue without modification, while an emergency bus service is expected to operate between Rheinstraße and Rheinhafen; passengers travelling to and from Hüls may be expected to transfer between the emergency bus service and the replacement bus service at Rheinstraße, and the stops Sandberg, Buddestraße, and Glindholzstraße may be expected to remain temporarily out of service, with passengers directed to utilize Botanischer Garten, Sporthalle Glockenspitz, and the temporary Rembertstraße stop as designated alternatives.
