As per reports, the National Center for Meteorology has issued an orange alert for parts of the Eastern Province, including Eastern Province cities such as Jubail, Al Khobar and Dammam on Friday (20 February).

• The alert reportedly indicates elevated weather-related risk levels associated with active winds, dust and sand movement.
• According to the official weather report, active winds are expected to stir up dust and sand across several regions, including Al Jawf, Northern Borders Region, Hail Region, Al Qassim Region and Madinah Region.
• These conditions are forecast to extend to parts of Makkah Region and Tabuk Region. Blowing dust and sand may reduce horizontal visibility and create hazardous travel conditions.
• In addition to dust activity, there remains a possibility of fog formation during the night and early morning hours over coastal areas of the Makkah Region and the Eastern Province.
• In the southern part, winds are expected to be southeasterly to southwesterly at speeds between 12 and 35 kilometres per hour, reaching up to 45 kilometres per hour toward the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
• Over the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are forecast to be northeasterly to southeasterly, shifting to northwesterly to northerly in the afternoon over the northern and central parts and northeasterly to northwesterly in the southern part. Wind speeds are expected between 10 and 28 kilometres per hour.
