As per reports, Environment Canada has issued an Orange Warning for freezing rainfall for the City of Hamilton, with conditions expected to begin overnight or early Wednesday (18 February) and ease by evening.
• The warning states that several hours of freezing rainfall are likely, with ice accretion of five to 10 millimetres, and locally up to 15 millimetres possible.
• Easterly winds are expected to gust up to 60 kilometres per hour, which, combined with ice accumulation, may result in utility outages and tree damage.
• The most hazardous conditions are forecast for higher elevation areas, while locations closer to Lake Huron may be less affected as temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark.
• In addition, a Yellow Advisory for fog remains in effect for the City of Hamilton, with near zero visibility reported in some areas, particularly near shoreline zones of the lower Great Lakes.
