As per reports, public administration employees at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education have announced a work stoppage and general strike on Thursday (19 February) and Friday (20 February), following recent government tax decisions.

• The Administrative Board of the Public Administration Employees Association stated that the strike is being organised in response to proposed tax increases, including value-added tax and new fuel-related fees, which the association described as measures that place additional financial pressure on public sector workers.
• The association confirmed that meetings will remain open to assess developments and that further action remains possible. The strike is expected to affect public administration offices linked to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education nationwide.
• The association is also calling for participation in discussions on salary scales, immediate payment of additional salaries, fuel support measures, and adjustments to working hours.
• No exemptions or minimum service levels have been announced at this stage.
