Red flood alert extended to Maine et Loire on Monday (16 February)

As per reports, French authorities have extended the red flood vigilance to a third department, Maine et Loire, on Monday (16 February).

• It has been reported that flooding is ‘generalized’ across France, with rivers including the Seine, Loire, and Garonne at critical levels.
• It has been reported that emergency services remain deployed in multiple regions, with evacuations, road closures, and power outages continuing, particularly in southwestern France (Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Dordogne) and Île-de-France (Seine-et-Marne).
• The orange alert is forecast to continue in 26 departments including Dordogne, Landes, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Tarn-et-Garonne, Haute-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Aude, Hérault, Gard, Ardèche, Isère, Rhône, Saône-et-Loire, Seine-et-Marne, Loiret, Indre-et-Loire, Maine-et-Loire, and others.
