As per reports, the Ministry of Health of Cambodia confirmed the first case of H5N1 human avian influenza (bird flu) on Saturday (14 February). A 30-year-old man from Meanrith village, Tuek Chhou district, Kampot province, was confirmed positive for H5N1 infection.

The patient exhibited symptoms including fever, cough and abdominal pain. After receiving medical treatment, he recovered and was discharged home on Saturday (14 February).
