The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported a 3.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Tomakomai in Hokkaido Prefecture of Japan at approximately 1619 hours (local time) on Sunday (15 February).

The earthquake was reported at a depth of 30 kilometres with seismic intensity 02 was reported in Higashidori village in Aomori prefecture.
