As per reports, the Sri Lankan government has announced special security arrangements for the India–Pakistan T20 World Cup match scheduled to be played in Colombo on Sunday (15 February).
Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa stated during a Cabinet media briefing that maximum security measures will be implemented to manage the high-profile fixture and anticipated large crowds.
• Authorities confirmed that police will introduce a special traffic management plan in and around the match venue. The Minister noted that the match, which had initially been in doubt, will proceed following coordination among the Sri Lankan government, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and cricket authorities. The Pakistani government has officially confirmed participation.
• Officials emphasized that enhanced deployment of security personnel will be undertaken to ensure public safety and orderly conduct of the event.
