Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) has issued a traffic advisory for the ICC Men’s T-20 Cricket World Cup matches scheduled in Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi till 01 March. Matches are scheduled on Tuesday (10 February), Thursday (12 February), Friday (13 February), Monday (16 February), Wednesday (18 February) and Sunday (01 March).
• There will be diversion of traffic for one hour before and after conclusion of the match. No heavy vehicles will be allowed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Delhi Gate to JLN Marg, from Darya Ganj to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road.
• People are requested to avoid following roads from 0900-1400 hours (local time) on Tuesday (10 February), Monday (16 February), Wednesday (18 February) from 0900-1400 hours (local time). On Friday (13 February) and Sunday (01 March) from 1400-1900 hours and from 1800-2330 hours (local time) on Thursday (12 February) when the spectators would be leaving/coming to the stadium and congestion is expected. The routes are –
• Raj Ghat to JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from ITO Chowk to Delhi Gate.
• Entry to the stadium –
• Gate number 1-8 are located on the southern side of the stadium and entry to these enclosures are from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. Gate number 10-15 are located on the eastern side of the stadium on the road and entry is from JLN Marg next to Ambedkar stadium bus terminal. Gate number 16-18 are located on the western side of the stadium and entry is from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near Petrol Pump.
• Parking – Labeled vehicles –
• Free parking for vehicle is available on Mata Sundri Road, Rajghat Power House Road and under Velodrome Road. Limited parking is available for labeled vehicles in the proximity of the stadium.
• Display of car parking label on windscreen is mandatory. Vehicle number must be written on the label. Those who do not display the label with vehicle number will not be allowed in the proximity of the stadium.
• Car parking label holders are advised to take ring road, JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road or Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. U turn at Delhi Gate is not allowed. Entry to parking lots P1, P2, P3 shall be from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg only from near the Vikram Nagar Cut, Shaheed Path.
• General Vehicles – No vehicle shall be allowed to be parked on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Neru Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to IP Flyover (both the carriageways) on the match day. Vehicles parked on these roads shall be towed away and prosecuted as per law.
• Free parking is available on Mata Sundri Road, Rajghat Power House Road, Under Velodrome Road.
