As per reports, auto rickshaw, call taxi and tourist taxi drivers across Tamil Nadu have announced a one‑day strike on Tuesday (10 February) to press for long‑standing demands including a revision of auto fares and better regulation of the taxi sector. The Tamil Nadu Auto, Call Taxi and Tourist Vehicle Drivers’ Federation will be leading the strike action.

A demonstration has been announced at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Madurai on Monday (09 February). The union also announced that on the day of the strike, a demonstration is planned in Chennai, likely at the Transport Department office. Further details are awaited.
