The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in parts of Tamil Nadu on Sunday (08 February).

Fog conditions can be expected in Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Salem, Dharmapuri, Erode, Dindigul, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Kanchipuram, and Chennai.

• Moreover, flight operations at Chennai airport have been reported on Sunday (08 February) due to foggy conditions and reduced runway visibility. Three international flights and one domestic flight schedule to arrive in Chennai were diverted to Trichy, Bengaluru, Coimbatore after visibility dropped to 150 metres.
