As per reports, Uber and DiDi drivers in Posadas, Misiones, have announced one-day strike to protest low fares and rising operating costs on Friday (06 February) and Saturday (07 February).
• Uber services are scheduled to be suspended from 0000 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) on Friday (06 February) until 0000 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) on Saturday (07 February).
• On Saturday (07 February), DiDi services are scheduled to be suspended for 24-hour period, while Uber services are expected to resume.
• Drivers stated that the action is expected to involve both cars and motorcycles and also include coordinated in app complaints submitted to the platforms.
• The protest is aimed at demanding a fare increase due to higher fuel prices, vehicle maintenance costs, and general operating expenses.
• Organisers indicated that participation could extend beyond Posadas to other parts of Misiones and potentially other provinces.
• Drivers have also warned that further action may be considered if there is no response from the platforms.
