As per reports, the Ver.di union has called for a warning strike across Germany’s public transport sector on Monday (02 February), affecting services in Berlin.
• A compromise between the union and Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) allows trams to run empty to prevent overhead lines from freezing, but all passenger services remain suspended.
• The strike action is part of nationwide wage negotiations.
• Tram services were previously disrupted for multiple days last week due to freezing rainfall icing the overhead lines.
