As per reports, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia (Roshydromet) has issued a Yellow Level of Weather Danger for Saint Petersburg in response to the forecast of adverse meteorological conditions until Friday (30 January).
• The alert is scheduled to be in effect from 2300 hours local time (2000 hours UTC) on Thursday (29 January) until 1000 hours local time (0700 hours UTC) on Friday (30 January), with supplementary advisories extending through Sunday (01 February) due to the continued risk of severe frost and icy conditions.
• Meteorological forecasts indicate that ambient temperatures may decline to approximately minus 20 degrees Celsius, with some areas potentially experiencing temperatures below this threshold.
• Local government authorities and emergency services have issued public advisories urging residents to exercise caution during the alert period, with particular emphasis on the risks of frostbite, hypothermia, icy road conditions, and travel-related hazards.
