As per reports, the Mauritius Meteorological Services (MMS) has issued a heavy rainfall watch for Mauritius, valid from Wednesday (28 January) until 1000 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) on Friday (30 January) due to an active monsoon-related weather disturbance affecting the region.

• Moist, unstable atmospheric conditions and active cloud bands from the north are expected to bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and reduced visibility across the island until Friday (30 January).
• The affected areas include Windsor, Port Louis, Vacoas, Curepipe, and Belle Mare.
