As per reports, a plane carrying Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister (DyCM) Ajit Pawar reportedly crashed on Wednesday (28 January) morning while attempting to land at Baramati Airport in Pune District, Maharashtra.
• According to early reports, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was on board and was rushed to a hospital shortly after the crash.
• Several news sources have indicated that the Deputy CM has passed away. However, it is pertinent to note that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the NCP, and the Maharashtra State Government are yet to issue an official confirmation on the status of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and others on-board. Further details are awaited.
• Senior NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leaders and members of the Pawar family Supriya Sule, Sunetra Pawar, and Parth Pawar have reportedly left for Baramati from Delhi.
