As per reports, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall and strong winds for parts of São Paulo state effective on Tuesday (27 January).
• The alert indicates potential rainfall of 20 to 30 mm per hour or up to 50 mm per day, with wind gusts between 40 and 60 km/h.
• High temperatures around 29 degrees Celsius and increased humidity are expected to fuel storm cloud formation across the state until Friday (30 January).
• The most intense rainfall is initially concentrated near the borders with Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, with the risk shifting to the central-western part of the state by Thursday (29 January) and Friday (30 January).
