As per reports, on Tuesday (27 January), from 1500 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) to 2059 hours local time (2359 hours UTC), the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) of Argentina issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms covering parts of Salta Province.
• During the alert period, affected areas are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong wind gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour, posing a risk of localized damage, reduced visibility, and temporary disruption to transport and power infrastructure.
• During the alert period, accumulated rainfall of approximately four centimetres to eight centimetres is forecast, with the possibility of localised exceedances, increasing the risk of flash flooding, waterlogging in low-lying areas, and short-term disruption to transport and essential services.
