The following developments have been reported on the flooding conditions in Jakarta as on Saturday (24 January) –
Reportedly, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented a work-from-home (WFH) policy for employees and distance learning (PJJ) for educational institutions until Tuesday (27 January). If necessary, the measures can be extended.
• Flooding that occurred in parts of DKI Jakarta still inundated 90 neighbourhood units (RT) and nine roads as of Saturday morning (24 January). However, flooding has shown a decrease and has receded in certain locations on Friday night (23 January).
• Floodwaters in Cawang Subdistrict, East Jakarta, have reached 2.5 meters. This is due to the overflowing Ciliwung River.
• The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast heavy clouds and light rainfall in parts of North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Bogor Regency.
