As per reports, two new strikes in the healthcare sector have been announced in Santa Cruz, expected to severely disrupt medical services from Monday (19 January) to Thursday (22 January).

• Health professionals, supported by the Federation of Unions of Medical Branches of Public Health (Fesirmes), are scheduled to hold a 48-hour strike with demonstrations from Monday (19 January).
• Healthcare workers plan a separate 96-hour strike from Monday (19 January) through Thursday (22 January). With Friday (23 January) being a public holiday, irregular services may persist for the entire week.
• Striking personnel are demanding payment of overdue salaries, with some workers reported to be on a hunger strike.
