As per reports, a fire was reported at the An Phu guesthouse located at 87, Lane 1, Vu Trong Khanh Street, Ha Dong Ward, Hanoi on Wednesday (14 January) at approximately 0148 hours (local time).
The fire was fully extinguished by 0210 hours (local time), after approximately 20 minutes of operations. All seven individuals trapped inside the building were safely rescued, and no injuries were reported.
• The incident occurred while occupants were asleep, with the fire originating in a rest room on the third floor of the eight-storey accommodation facility.
• Upon receiving the emergency alert, the Hanoi Fire Prevention and Rescue Police dispatched six fire trucks, one ladder truck, one equipment transport vehicle, one command vehicle, and around 50 police officers and firefighters to the site.
• Firefighting teams implemented a parallel response, with one unit focusing on containing the fire and preventing spread to neighbouring structures, while another unit used ladder equipment to guide occupants to the rooftop.
• Initial findings led Ha Dong Ward Police to detain a suspect in connection with alleged arson. Authorities have stated that investigations into the cause and assessment of property damage are ongoing.
