The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 4.3 earthquake approximately 136 kilometers south-southwest of Kiamba, Sarangani at around 0122 hours (local time) on Wednesday (14 January).

The earthquake originated at an estimated depth of 32 kilometers and was classified as tectonic in nature.
