As per reports, a roadside improvised explosive device detonated under the armoured personnel carrier in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday (12 January). The explosion resulted in the death of at least six policemen, including the Additional Station House Officer of Gomal Police Station.

• The blast occurred in the Gomal area, approximately 25 kilometres from Tank city, while the officers were travelling on routine duty.
• Initial police reports indicate that the explosion was triggered remotely, suggesting a well-planned ambush by militants operating in the region.
