As per reports, a mine explosion was reported at the Teknaf border, Cox Bazaar at around 1000 hours (local time) on Monday (12 January). No casualties have been reported yet, however, a person was reportedly injured in the explosion.

The incident took place in the area between Shahjahan Island area and Han Island on the Naf River, adjacent to the Hoi Kyung-Unchiprang border.

• Mortar shell explosions have been reported at the Hoi Kyung border in Teknaf from Saturday (10 January) to Sunday (11 January).
• Following the incident, the locals had blocked the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road in protest, which was later on resolved by the local police.
