As per reports, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake on Tuesday (02 January) has resulted in widespread water shortages in Acapulco, Guerrero.
• More than 400,000 residents are currently affected by the service disruption.
• The seismic event caused a pipeline collapse in the Papagayo II system and damaged electrical systems at the Chapultepec North and South Wells.
• While water supply has been restored in the city’s tourist zone, service for the remaining 400,000 inhabitants is expected to be fully restored by Monday (12 January).
