The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has announced that the cold weather warning remained in effect on Tuesday (06 January).

Due to the influence of the winter monsoon, temperatures across Hong Kong dropped significantly, with urban areas recording around 12 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in the New Territories were generally one to two degrees lower.
